World Voice Day 2026
Thursday 16th April 2026 is World Voice Day by organised by Voice Foundation. This year they have chosen the theme: Caring for our voices. If you’ve been to any of our events or classes you’ll know that we’re BIG on looking after our voices. We don’t start a session without considering how is our voice feeling today and how can we continue to look after it today and beyond.
There are lots of resources online containing advice, vocal warm ups and tips to care for and improve your voice. It’s always important to do your research and ensure that the person delivering that advice is reputable and has relevant training or experience. You don’t want to end up doing a free vocal warm up that actually does more harm than good.
With that in mind, we’ve picked a few totally FREE resources from organisations and professionals that we know and trust, check them out below and show your voice some extra love this World Voice Day!
World Voice Day - Firstly the organisation behind the day have provided some useful warm ups and techniques for when dealing with vocal issues - https://worldvoiceday.org/voice-caring/warm-up-exercises/
The National Theatre - The National Theatre has a great YouTube series led by former Head of Voice Jeannette Nelson covering breathing, resonance and opening up. Really useful if you want to warm up along to something rather than just on your own - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc-_hoG4nec
Nic Redman - One of our favs! If you’re short on time Nic has a YouTube video dedicated to warming up in just five minutes - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX6LSr8qJp8
Wellcome Collection - This one is good fun. We all love to throw some tongue twisters into our warm ups so here is a YouTube video with several twisters to consider and the science behind them - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pLs8gO0myg
Molly Parker - It’s not just about warming up! Molly talks us through a cool down to ensure that your voice and body has the time and space to refresh - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y34HV_oPmTs
